Every success story begins somewhere. Whether it's a broken home with an absentee parent, a hospital bed with a medical condition, a lonely seat at the lunch table or a crowded inner city classroom. But it is not where they begin that matters. It's how they end.
Since 1997, The First Tee has introduced the game of golf and its inherent values to more than six million young people. In 2012, The First Tee of Greater Miami Valley reached 5,892 youths in Butler, Montgomery and Warren counties through summer certification programs, outreach with local youth service agencies and our National School Program. On golf courses, in elementary schools, and on military installations, we've helped shape the lives of young people from all walks of life by teaching them values like integrity, respect and perseverance. But for every young person positively impacted by The First Tee, there are even more that do not have an opportunity to experience the program.
